Wise Aging
Temple Beth Sholom will be offering a new program - WISE AGING - in the spring of 2019. The program was developed by the Institute for Jewish Spirituality and is based on the book "Wise Aging, Living With Joy, Resilience, and Spirit", by Rabbi Rachel Cowen and Dr. Linda Thal. The program will be facilitated by four professionals who have been trained by the author. The program is specifically for adults in their mid 60s and 70s. This stage of life is unprecedented. The extension of longevity is only part of the story. What is more stunning about this stage is that it is rich with opportunities for discovery, enthusiasm, and creativity.
The Wise Aging program provides resources and insights based on text study, contemplative listening, mindfulness, and movement to live our lives with resilience and wisdom. The group will be guided through reflective work that enables us to come to new understanding about our lives and values.
The vehicle for Wise Aging's exploration is a peer group of 10-12 meeting for four sessions: April 3 & 17, May 1 & 15, 2019. The fee for the program is $120 which includes text materials.
