Important Information about jLAB for 2020-2021:

Keeping the health and safety of our students and staff at the forefront, we have made the decision that we will begin the 2020-2021 jLAB year entirely online. We will continually monitor health situations as they pertain to Covid-19, and as soon as we deem it safe and appropriate to move some or all of our programming back into the Temple Beth Sholom building, we will do so. We are already working to make all aspects of our programming as robust, engaging, and meaningful as possible for our jLAB students and families, and we are excited to continue this Jewish learning journey with each of you.

Our intention is to keep programming times as close as possible to what they have already been. This means that our K-5 students will continue meeting on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons; our 6-8 grade students will meet on Monday afternoons; and our 9th and 10th grade Confirmation students will meet on Monday evenings. As the public and private schools in our community determine what their scheduling will be for the fall, we might need to adjust our own schedule to best accommodate all of our families. However, my hope is that providing you with the information as we know it now will help you in having some idea of your family’s schedule with jLAB.

We will be in touch throughout the summer as our planning evolves, and registration will open as soon as we are able to confirm our class offerings and timing. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to be in touch with any questions you may have; you can reach the Director of jLAB, Barb Shimansky, by phone at 305-538-7231 or by email at And for our new families, be on the lookout for an upcoming information session to learn all about jLAB!
