The One Congregation Service for Erev Rosh

HaShanah and Rosh HaShanah combines the most beloved elements of our Traditional and Unplugged services in a new way.

The Youth Experience (Grades K-6) parallels the Main Sanctuary and Traditional Services on both Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur. Our youth will experience interactive and dynamic High Holy Days services with music, holiday-related activities, and a special time to bond with their peers.

Led by: Barb Shimansky & Mason Duboff

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to volunteer as teen leaders for Youth High Holy Day Programming. They will be responsible for helping to innovate and create High Holy Day prayer services and programming for kids in grades K-6. The teens will also be responsible for helping to lead the prayers and programming during Rosh HaShanah (Monday, September 30 at 9:30 am) and Yom Kippur (Wednesday, October 9 at 11:30 am). Teens are welcome to participate for both of the High Holy Days, or choose just one. Mandatory teen orientation for Rosh HaShanah Youth Programming will be held on Wednesday, September 25 at 6:00 pm; Teen Orientation for Yom Kippur Youth Programming will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:00 pm.

**Please contact Rabbi Loiben ( with any questions and to sign up.

Meditation Service (Avodat ha-Lev)

Join Cantor Segal and our temple lay meditation leader Marte Singerman for a 45-minute mind, body and spirit practice that  will include gentle movement, chanting, and meditation during the 2:45 pm Yom Kippur break. This is a wonderful opportunity to recharge and renew for the remainder of the Holy Days. All adults welcome.

The Yom Kippur Afternoon/Torah/Yizkor/Neilah Services are in the Sanctuary. The Torah Service includes the teens who will talk about their Israel experiences as well as our annual Israel Bonds appeal. This service features our precious Holocaust Torah, which we read from only twice a year. Yizkor will feature the lighting of memorial candles by our members.
